NuMI notes

NuMI notes consist of technical memos, minutes, and other documents of interest to the COSMOS or MINOS experiments or the Fermilab NuMI project. If you have a document that could or should be a NuMI note, you should

(1) Request a NuMI note number from Maury Goodman at mcg@hep.anl.gov

(2) Send a copy by electronic mail to him. NuMI notes are presently maintained in postscript or ascii formats. A few are also in .pdf or .html. Word files are converted to postscript.

(3) Copies of NuMI notes are maintained primarily at Argonne by Chris Schuur (630-252-6213) and at Fermilab by Monica Sasse, (630-840-3316), and at several other collaborating institutions. We encourage users to get copies of NuMI notes from the web. However, copies of individual notes are available from Argonne upon request.

(4) It is possible, by request, to restrict access to certain NuMI notes to collaborators only with a password. The password is send to collaborators (using the mailing list server, minos_all at Fermilab) along with an updated index every month or two.

NuMI numbers are assigned with the following system:

• NuMI-B-xxx ; primarily concerning beam design
• NuMI-S-xxx ; primarily concerning the short-baseline experiment COSMOS
• NuMI-L-xxx ; primarily concerning the long-baseline experiment MINOS
• NuMI-E-xxx ; primarily concerning the long-baseline emulsion experiment
• NuMI-xxx ; more general interest
